Paper Doll Press was created by Jessica Pokaski in Pasadena, California to offer quality designs with a unique personal touch. Jessica has been obsessed with stationery and paper for as long as she can remember. Now, since discovering her passion for letterpress printing, she is offering her creativity and ideas to people who want something special at an affordable price.

What is Letterpress?

In letterpress printing moveable lead or wood type (and in today’s modern era specially made plates derived from the computer) are inked and fit it into an antique machine, such as a Chandler and Price Platen press or a Vandercook proof press. Images and text are then pressed into soft paper leaving an impression that is both tactile and visible to the eye. Though many faster forms of printing exist today, letterpress continues to thrive as a traditional art form for its quality and beauty.
